We recommend completing our Cosmetic Tattooing: Powder Brows course first, or you can enrol with existing cosmetic tattooing experience. Proof of prior skills required.”
Nano strokes create fine, crisp hair-like strokes with a tattoo machine, giving the most natural result in brow tattooing. They're ideal for clients who want realistic, textured brows rather than a shaded look, and they command a premium price.
This intermediate course builds on your powder brow skills. You'll refine your machine control and learn nano needle configurations, then focus on stroke work: hair-stroke patterns and direction, stroke spacing and depth, and building realistic texture that follows the client's natural brow. You'll learn how skin type affects the way strokes heal, which clients suit nano strokes and which are better suited to powder, and how to combine both into combo brows. Colour selection, consultation, contraindications, numbing and infection control are refreshed throughout.
Model work is at the heart of this course. Rather than bundling in a kit, we put your investment into hands-on time: after lecturer demonstrations and stroke practice on skins, you'll tattoo 3 live models under close guidance.
Because fine strokes are the least forgiving work to heal, we cover healing in depth: how strokes heal on different skin types, why strokes can blur or fade and how to prevent it, aftercare, pigment retention, the perfecting session, troubleshooting and corrections.

Technique and product troubleshooting for twelve months after you certify, plus help with your NZ Health Protection licence.
Paying for your course
Pay in full, or spread it over four or six weeks with invoices sent to you each week. Afterpay is also accepted.
A 20% deposit holds your dates with an expert educator. The balance is then split across your chosen plan. Need longer than six weeks? Ask us and we will try to accommodate you.
