Lip blushing gives clients soft, natural colour and definition that lasts, correcting uneven shape and faded tone for a fresh, just-bitten look without daily lip products. It's one of the fastest-growing services in cosmetic tattooing.
You'll start with the essentials every cosmetic tattoo artist needs: infection control, skin anatomy and Fitzpatrick skin types, consultation, consent, contraindications and the safe use of numbing agents, including numbing for the more sensitive lip area. You'll then learn the anatomy of the lip and the precautions specific to lip work, including cold sore history and when a client needs antiviral cover from their doctor before treatment. From there you'll learn colour theory, lip pigments and undertones, and how to neutralise dark or cool lips so colour heals true. You'll learn your machine and needle configurations, correct depth and stretching, lip mapping and design, and how to build even, blushed colour.
Model work is at the heart of this course. Rather than bundling in a kit, we put your investment into hands-on time. You'll watch your lecturer work on a demonstration model and practise alongside them, then complete 2 full lip blushing procedures on your own live models under close guidance, so you leave with real experience on real clients.
Because great cosmetic tattooing is judged on the healed result, we cover healing in depth: each stage of lip healing, from swelling and flaking to colour settling, aftercare methods, how to tell normal healing from infection or a reaction, and what affects pigment retention on the lips. We also cover the perfecting session, troubleshooting and corrections, and how to photograph your work.

A year of tutor support
Technique and product troubleshooting for twelve months after you certify, plus help with your NZ Health Protection licence.
Paying for your course
Pay in full, or spread it over four or six weeks with invoices sent to you each week. Afterpay is also accepted.
A 20% deposit holds your dates with an expert educator. The balance is then split across your chosen plan. Need longer than six weeks? Ask us and we will try to accommodate you.
