Powder brows are one of the most requested cosmetic tattoo services. The soft, shaded finish looks like a perfectly filled-in brow, and clients love waking up with brows that are done for them, with no daily makeup.
This course takes you from the foundations of cosmetic tattooing (also known as permanent makeup or PMU) to a finished powder brow. You'll start with the essentials every cosmetic tattoo artist needs: infection control, skin anatomy and Fitzpatrick skin types, consultation, consent, contraindications and the safe use of numbing agents. From there you'll learn colour theory, brow pigments and undertones, and how to choose a colour that heals true on each client. You'll learn your machine and needle configurations, correct depth and stretching, and how to map and design a brow that suits the client's face before building soft, even shading.
Model work is at the heart of this course. Rather than bundling in a kit, we put your investment into hands-on time. You'll watch your lecturer work on a demonstration model and practise alongside them, then complete 2 full powder brow procedures on your own live models under close guidance, so you leave with real experience on real faces.
Because great cosmetic tattooing is judged on the healed result, we cover healing in depth: each stage of the healing process, how healing differs by skin type, aftercare methods, how to tell normal healing from infection or a reaction, and what affects pigment retention. We also cover the perfecting session, troubleshooting and corrections, and how to photograph your work for your portfolio.

A year of tutor support
Technique and product troubleshooting for twelve months after you certify, plus help with your NZ Health Protection licence.
Paying for your course
Pay in full, or spread it over four or six weeks with invoices sent to you each week. Afterpay is also accepted.
A 20% deposit holds your dates with an expert educator. The balance is then split across your chosen plan. Need longer than six weeks? Ask us and we will try to accommodate you.
